| Business Plan | A written document describing all the steps necessary in opening and operating a successful business. |
| Advertising | A paid form of communication sent out by a business about a product or service. |
| Direct Competition | Competition by a business that makes most of its money selling the same or similar products or services as another business. |
| Indirect Competition | Competition by a business that makes only a small amount of its money selling the same or similar products or services as another business |

| Press Release | A written statement meant to inform the media of an event or product. |
| Target Market | Individuals or companies interested in a particular product or service who are willing and able to pay for it. |
