hardware terms

TermDefinition
case the portective outer shell of your computer.
power suply the main source of power for your computer to run.
mother board this is the main power source for your computer it powers all of the different components.
cpu The chip that performs the majority of calculations and instructions needed to make your computer run.
memory the amout of data your computer can have. located on the mother board.
video card these are linked to the speakers causing sound and to be able to run videos on your computer with higher quality.
storage The main storage area inside your computer is the hard disk or hard drive. these store your computer's operating system.
desktop A computer that is flat and usually sits on a desk. The original design for a home computer.
tower it is the egsact same as a desktop but is upright.
monotor The monitor is the screen of the computer and is like a tv screen.
keyboard The keyboard is the main input device for most computers. you can type things in to the computer.
mouse allows the user to point and click on thingsand also to drag or drop
speakers alow noise to come out form the computer to give you a notifacation or to listen to music.
disk removable disk which can store large amounts of information.
floppy disk a flexible magnetic square disc that holds information or data.
