| Amortization schedule | show the beginning and ending balances and the amount of payment that is applied to the principal and interest over a period |
| Data table | used to automate data analysis and organize the answers returned by Excel |
| cell protection | ensures that users do not change valued inadvertently that are critical to the worksheet |
| hiding | lets you show only the parts of the workbook that the user needs to see |
| formula checker | examines the formulas in a workbook in a manner similar to the way the spell checker examines a workbook for misspelled words |
| cell name | often is created from column and row titles |
| global | a name assigned to a cell or cell range on one worksheet in a workbook can be used on other sheets in the same workbook to reference the named cell or range |
| PMT function | has three arguments: rate, payment, and loan amount |
| one-input data table | you can vary the value in one cell |
| two-input data table | allows you to vary the valued in two cells but you can apply a two-input data table to only one formula |
| input values | the series of interest rates in column B |
