| Term | Definition |

| Quick Access Toolbar | A toolbar that allows you to save, undo, or redo. |
| Title Bar | Identifies the name of the software and the document file name. |
| Close Button | Allows you to quickly exit the software |
| Ruler | Displays at below the ribbon, can be used to set tabs. |
| Insertion Point | A vertical blinking line. It indicates where text will appear when you start typing. |
| Document Window | Represents a sheet of paper. Where your text appears. |
| Status Bar | Appears at the bottom of the Document Window. Gives information about your document. It also allows you to change the document view. |
| Horizontal Scroll Bar | Appears above the Status Bar. Used to display document text not in view on either the right or left side of the window |
| Vertical Scroll Bar | Appears to the right of the Document Window. Used to display document text not in view at the top or bottom of the Document Window. |
| Ribbon | Appears just below the Title Bar. Consist of tabs, groups, and commands. It's one method of giving commands to the computer. |
| View Buttons | Located on the Status Bar. Used to change the view of the document. |
| Zoom Slider | Located on the Status Bar. Used to change the magnification of the document. |
