Compare | Feature when you have two different versions of a document and you want to see the differences between the two |
Combine | Feature when you have two or more versions of a document that you want to combine into a single document |
Merge | Term that can be used to describe a combined document |
Spreadsheet Program | Allows you to organize, calculate, and analyze numerical data in a grid of rows and columns. |
Worksheet | Spreadsheet created in Microsoft Excel. |
Object Linking and Embedding | Technology that allows you to share information between the Office programs. |
Integration | Term used to refer to the process of object linking and embedding |
Source Program | Program used to create the original version of the object |
Destination Program | Program into which the object is integrated |
Source File | Original file that contains the object you are integrating |
Destination File | File into which you integrate the object |
Embedding | Technique that allows you to insert a copy of an object into a destination doument |
Linking | Similar to embedding, except that the object inserted into the destination file maintains a connection to the source file--not just the source program |
bookmark | Electronic marker that refers to a specific point in a document |
target | Place in a document to which a link connects |
Web pages | Special documents designed to be viewed in a program called a browser |
Browser | Program used to view web pages |
Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) | Code used to create web pages |
HTML Documents | Another term for Web pages (special documents designed to be viewed in a program called a browser) |
Single File Web Page | Saves a document as an MHTML file, which is similar to an HTML file, with all graphics stored in the file along with the text |
Web Page | Saves a document as an HTML file, with a separate folder containing graphics and other elements that control the page's formatting |
Web Page, Filtered | Saves the document as an HTML file, with graphics stored in a separate folder |
Web Layout View | Displays the document similarly to the way it would appear in a Web Browser |
