Term | Definition |

Comma-seperated Values (CSV) | A file format in which comma's seperate the field values of each record in the data source and paragraph marks seperate individual records. |
Data Source | A file that contains the records or fields used in another document or file; could be a Word document, an Excel workbook, or an Access database. In Excel, a range of cells that stores the data plotted on a chart. |
Delimited Data | Data that is stored in text format and seperated by delimiters, such as comma's. |
Delimitir | A character or sequence of characters marking the beginning or end of a unit of data. |
Export | A term used when data is saved into a different file format. |
Form Letter | A document that contains merge fields to indicate where to print data from a data source; such as an Access database or an Excel workbook. |
Import | A term used when data is copied from a file into a different location. |
Main Document | The file used in a mail merge that contains the information that does not vary from one document to the next. |
Merge Field | A placehonder in the main document in a mail merge that is replaced with data form the data source when you perform the merge. |
