Some of the many terms, tools and palettes used in InDesign for color.

Swatches 1. An InDesign palette that contains solid and mixed samples of color
Cyan 2. What the C stands for in CMYK
Magenta 3. What the M stands for in CMYK
Yellow 4. What the Y stands for in CMYK
Black 5. What the K stands for in CMYK
Stroke 6. What Adobe apps call an outline around an object
CMYK 7. The 4 letters used together that represents the 4 colors used in color process printing
Paper 8. What the color WHITE is called in the InDesign color palette
Gradient 9. A function in graphic software permitting a person to make an image contain a gradual change of colors (such as purple turning gradually into blues and then greens).
Color 10. An InDesign palette that allows you to mix colors to be added to the Swatches palette
Fill 11. What you select in the Swatches and Color palettes to color the INSIDE area of an object or font
Stroke 12. What you select in the Swatches and Color palettes to color the OUTSIDE area of an object or font
