Making Decisions

Career Decision-Making Skills

Adaptability Being able or willing to change in order to suit different conditions
Attitude Your outlook on life, usually positive or negative
Backup plan An alternative course of action
Chronological order Time order, or the order in which events happen
Decision A choice you make about what action to take
Decision-making process The series of steps that help you identify and evaluate choices
Employment trend A characteristic of employment that is consistent over a long period of time
Logical Of, relating to, involving, or being in accordance with logic
Long-term goal A challenging goal that takes a long time to achieve and may first involve the achievement of short- and medium-term goals.
Medium-term goal A goal that is usually more challenging and takes longer to achieve than a short-term goal
Obstacle Something that stands in your way
Outcome The result or effect of a decision
Post secondary school Any school you might attend at any point after high school
Prioritize To put tasks in the order of importance
Procrastinate To put off doing or deciding about something
Short-term goal A goal to start working on right away
Values Personal standards by which one lives
