Music Major Scales

Quarter Note 1 beat of sound
Half Note 2 beat of sound
Whole Note 4 beat of sound

Quarter Rest 1 beat of silence
Half Rest 2 beat of silence
Whole Rest 4 beat of silence
Eighth Rest 1/2 beat of silence
Sixteenth Rest 1/4 beat of silence
Bar Line separates the notes into measures.
Double Bar Line ends the song or a section of the song.
Measure space between the bar line.
Staff 5 lines and 4 spaces.
Time Signature tells how many beats are in a measure.
Key Signature Indicates where “do” is located.
Major tonality do is the home note.
Step Straight up and down
Skip Skipping notes on a scale
Pentascale 5 note scale; do, re, mi, fa, so.
