| Social stratification (social strata) | classification of people into groups based on shared socio-economic conditions ... a relational set of inequalities with economic, social, political and ideological dimensions. |

| Class mobility | the extent to which individuals can move out of the strata into which they are born - a trait in class systems versus caste systems |
