QuestionAnswer
A step that involves temporarily hiding data that is not useful or necessary for the analysis. Filtering
An Excel command that you use to create summary reports that quickly organize date into categories with subtotal calculations and lets you collapse and expand the level of detail in the report. Subtotal Command
An analysis tool that represents PivotTable source data as a graphic; the report includes series, axes, and data markers, just as a regular chart does. PivotChart
An interactive report that lets you summarize and analyze a data set; this report can be used to summarize selected fields from a list of data from an external source, such as a database. PivotTable
The function that can be used to combine up to 255 strings into one text string. CONCATENATE (TEXT1, TEXT2..)
The function that removes all spaces in a text string except for the single spaces between words. TRIM (TEXT)
An available option when splitting data points between charts in a Pie of Pie or Bar of Pie chart type. This option allows you to select a cut-off point that assigns all the values below that point to the second plot. VALUE (TEXT)
The function that returns the starting position of one text value within another text value in the same manner as the FIND function, but this function is not case sensitive. SEARCH (TEXT, WITHIN_TEXT, <START_NUM>)

Converts a value to text in the specified number format. TEXT (VALUE, FORMAT)/Function
Converts lowercase letters in a text string to uppercase. UPPER (TEXT)
Converts uppercase letters in a text string to lowercase. LOWER (TEXT)
Capitalizes the first letter in each word in a text string and converts all other letters to lowercase; very useful wen data has been improperly stored as uppercase characters. PROPER (TEXT)
Returns a specific number of characters in a text string using start_num as the starting point. MID (TEXT, START_NUM, END_NUM)
Returns the serial number of a particular date. DATE (year,month,day) Function
Converts a date in the form of text to a serial number. DATEVALUE (date_text)
