| font | A style or design for a set of type characters |
| footer | Information that appears below the body text at the bottom of document pages |
| format | An arrangement or layout, as of text on a page |
| goodwill | A friendly feeling or attitude |
| header | Information that appears above the body text on pages of a document |
| kerning | Adjusting the space between characters in text |
| line graph | A chart used to display trends that emerge over a period of time |
| negative message | A communication that will be disappointing to the recipient |
| netiquette | Guidelines for proper behavior when communicating online, derived from network and etiquette |
| neutral message | A communication that simply relays facts; neither positive nor negative |
| optical character recognition (OCR) | Reading text printed on paper and translating the images into words that can be saved in a computer file and edited |
| pagination | The process of dividing a document into individual pages for printing |
| passive voice | A style of writing in which the subject is acted upon rather than performing the action |
