What is science? why something happens.
What is engineering? how to turn science into something useful.
what is technology? satisfies human needs and wants.
What is physical technology? transportation, production, manufacturing, construction.
what it biotechnology? agriculture, medecine, food processing, genetic engineering.
what is information/communication technology? graphic communication, electronic communication, photographic information.
what is exponential rate of growth? technology is growing faster today than ever before. tomorrow it will be even faster than today.
what is time? everything takes time, it must me measured and managed very carefully.
what is information? we need to know what to do and how to do it. begins as data and is processed into information. informat technology is a growing field.
what is capital? cash, stock, machinery, buildings.
what are tools and machines? tools: extend our ability to do work. Machines: change the amount, speed, or direction of a force.
what is energy? people and machines use energy. energy is constantly used.
what are materials? what we use to produce products. materials can be renewable or nonrenewable, and natural or manmade.
what are people? people have needs and wants. human intelligence and creativity are the keys to technological developments.
what do you need to make technology? time, information, capital, tools and machines, energy, materials, and people. (tictemp)
what is brainstorming? getting as many ideas as possible. there are no wrong ideas during brain storming. there is no criticism of any ideas.
what are the 6 steps of problem solving? 1- identify and define the problem. 2- set goals. 3- generate possible solutions. 4- develop chosen solution. 5-testing and monitoring. 6- is the solution optimal?
