what does copyright protect ? copyright protects tangible expression of ideas
what is the purpose of copyright ? the purpose of copyright is to protect the creator of a creative work
what is infringment ? is the act of violating a copyright by copying or other wise DISTRIBUTING a copyrright work without permission or authorization
what can happen if you infringe on someone else's copyright ? can be sued
what does fair use allow ? allows copyrighted work to be repurposed and used in another work
what are some examples of fair use ? if a copyrighted matierals is used for the following : education , commentary or critim News reporting , parody or making fun of work , using a small portion of the work ; is considered fair use
what is an example of derivative work ? a screenplay for a movie based on the book
what is software ? programs that tell a computer what to do are called software example : microsoft office micr type micro pace pro
what is public domain software ? pubic domain software is non-copyrighted software that any one may copy or use without charge
what is copyrighted software ? software that is legally protected against copying or being used without paying for for it is called copyrighted software
what is shareware ? copyrighted software that may be tried without expense dut requires payment if you decide to use it
what is freeware ? software on the web that is freely available (but remains a copyright ) EXAMPLES:mozilla,adobe flash player,skype
what is piracy ? The act of stealing valuable property by copying software , music , graphics / pictures ,movies and books ( all available on the internet )
what is Hacking ? Breaking into a computer to read private emails and other files. (hackers delete or alter files )
WHAT IS Hacking ? Occurs when someone appropriates anther’s personal information without their knowledge to commit theft or fraud
WHAT IS Releasing Virus Worms ? Intentionally releasing a virus or worm to harm others or attack networks
