What are the elements or Design? Space,Line,Shape,Form,Texture, and color
What are the principles of desing?
What is the principle repitition? Designs, shapes, or colors repeated around the room.
how does texture affect color? Smooth surfaces relfect more lifht than rough surfaces. Makes them brighter and lighter.
What do curved lines suggest? They add a soft, graceful effect to designs.
what is the difference between horizontal, veritcal, and radio balance? Horizontal leads the eye from left to right, vertical leads the eye up and radio lines move out from the center point.
What do diagonal lines suggest? Suggest action, movement, and excitement.
What is space? The area provided for a particular purpose and can have two ro three dimensions.
What are the four types of rhythm? Radiation, repetion, continuous.
What is asymmetrical balance? Example? Parts of the sesing are not identical but are equal in visual. Had a table with a plant on one side and a photo frame on the other side to balance it off.
What is the difference between horizontal and vertical lines? Veritca go up and down and horizontal goes side to side.
What is the golden mean? the proportion scale and how the design is visually divided.
What is the difference between shape and form? Shape is flat and form has dimentions.
What are the five types of balance?
What does unity or harmony mean? Everything in a room flows and goes together.
What are the two things texture involves? involves how he surface feels to touch and how it appears to feel.
What are the four types of line? vertical, horixontal, diagonal, and curved lines.
What is proportion? Where everything is even in a room and balanced.
Which of the five types of balance suggests excitement or interest? Texture, Form, and Color.
What is symmetrical balance? Example? Everything in a room is evenly balanced.
What is emphasis? What is another name for it? one object or item stands out. focal point.
What happens when you use a continuous line? it makesa room look larger and attracks your eyes.
What is another name for symmetrical balance? when both parts are identical.formal balance
What is another name for asymmetrical balance? informal balance
What is the difference between gradation and radiation? gradation is increase or decrease in size or color and radiation is when a design starts from the middle and works its way out.
