Computer terms-grades 7 and 8

Processor a small computer chip that is inside computers and electronic devices
RAM the temporary memory of a computer
Binary a two digit number system, using zeroes and ones to store data and compute functions
Bit the smallest unit of computer data, whose name came from "Binary Digit"
Memory any type of storage data, like RAM and ROM
Byte one of these contains 8 binary bits
kilobyte it is 2 to the 10th power or 1,024 bytes
megabyte 10 to the 6th power or about 1 million bytes
gigabyte 10 to the 9th power or about 1 billion bytes
terabyte 2 to the 40th power or 1 trillion bytes
