Coronary Circulation The circulation of blood within the heart.
Pulmonary Circulation The flow of blood between the heart and lungs.
Systemic Circulation The flow of blood between the heart and the cells of the body.
Hematocrit Measurement of percentage of red blood bells.
Perfusionist Operated heart-lung machine during bypass surgery.
Phlebotomist Takes patient's blood and prepares for testing.
Hypertension High blood pressure.
Stroke "Brain Attack", happens when blood flow to a part of the brain stops.
Arteriosclerosis Hardening of the arteries. It occurs when fat, cholesterol, and other substances build up in the walls of arteries and plaques.
Aneurysm An abnormal widening or ballooning of a portion of an artery due to weakness in the wall of the blood vessel.
Heart Attack Occurs when blood flow to a part of your heart is blocked for a long enough time that part of the heart muscle is damaged or dies.
Coronary Artery Disease (CHD) is a narrowing of the small blood vessels that supply blood and oxygen to the heart.
Congestive Heart Failure A condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to the rest of the body.
Anemia A condition in which the body does not have enough healthy red blood cells.
Hemophilia Refers to a group of bleeding disorders in which it takes a long time for the blood to clot.
Leukemia Cancer of the blood cells.
