Allegory A story or film in which people, things and life represent an idea or generalization about life
Diction Choice of words
Epic Long narrative poem dealing with persons of heroic proportions and actions of great significance
Hyperbole A figure of speech using absurd overstatement for poetic, comic effect
Empathy Identifying with a person or object in which you participate in posture, motion and sensations that one perceives, “involuntary projection”
Analogy A comparison of 2 or more similar objects, suggesting that if they are alike in certain respects, they will probably be alike in other ways as well
