QuestionAnswer
Active Window The window in which you are currently working.
Cascade Arrange windows so they overlap, with active window in front. Only the title bars of nonactive windows are visible.
Copy To duplicate a selection. The original remains unchanged.
Cut To delete a selection from its original location and move it to the Clipboard.
Default A standard setting or mode of operation.
Group button A taskbar button that represents all open windows for one application.
Maximize Enlarge a window so it fills the entire screen.
Minimize Hide a window so it appears only as a button on the Windows Taskbar.
Office Clipboard A temporary storage area that can hold up to 24 selections at a time.
Paste To insert a selection from the clipboard into document.
Restore Return a minimized window to its previous size and position on the screen.
Restore down Return a maximized window to its previous size and position on the screen.
Scroll Shift the displayed area of the document up, down, left, or right.
Tile Arrange windows so they do not overlap.
Zoom Adjust the magnification of the content displayed on the screen. This does not affect the actual size of the printed document.
Zoom in Increase the size of the document as it is displayed onscreen.
Zoom out Decrease the size of the document as it is displayed onscreen.
AutoRecover A feature in some Microsoft Office 2010 programs that automatically save files at a set interval so that in the event of a system failure the files may be recovered.
Read Only mode A mode in which the open file can be viewed but not edited.
Business document A professional document used to communicate information within a company or between one company and another.
Compress Minimize the size of something.
Destination location The location where a folder or file is stored after it is moved.
Extract Remove, or separate from.
IT strategy A plan that identifies how information technology will be put in place over time to help an organization achieve its overall business goals.
Source Location The original location where a folder or file is stored.
Technology infrastructure The computer systems networking devices, software, and other technologies used to collect, store, and distribute information.
