Color Terms

How do you percieve white? Add some black.
How do you percieve black? Add some white.
What is hue? Hue refers to the color itself.
What are the primary colors? The three basic colors that are used to create all of the other colors.
What are the secondary colors? The three colors that are achieved from equal parts of the two primary colors.
What are the tertiary colors? When you mix equal parts of one primary and one secondary color.
What is a saturated color? The colors used in color wheels are called saurated colors because there is no white or black in them.
What three groups make up the color wheel? Primary,secondary and tertiary.
What is a tint? A saurated color that is mixed with pure white.
What is a shade? A saurated color that is mixed with pure black.
What are three colors that are considered to be warm colors Red,yellow and orange.
What are three colors that are considered to be cool colors? Blue,green and violet.
What are the five neutral colors? Black,grey,white,brown and tan.
What are the six types of color harmonies? Monochromatic,Analogus,Complementary,Tradic,Split Complementary,Netural.
What is a monochromatic color harmony? They are achieved by using tints and shades of only one color.
What is an analougus color harmony? Are done by using three or more colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.
What is a complementary color harmony? Two colors that are directly across from each other on the color wheel.
What is a triadic color harmony? Three colors that are located within equal distance of each other.
What is a split complementary scheme? This is created by using any color and two colors located next to that colors complement.
What is a neutral color scheme? Any combination of blacks,greys,white,brown and tans.
