region an area of land that has common features

mining the extraction (removal) of minerals and metals from Earth
population density a way of showing how crowded a place is; how many people live in a square mile
immigration the process of moving to a new country with plans to live there permanently
immigrant people who move to a new country
refugee a person seeking safe haven after being forced to flee (run away from) violence
push factor a factor (reason) that 'pushes' someone out of their area
pull factor a factor (reason) that 'pulls' someone into an area
culture a pattern of behavior shared by a society, or group of people
cultural diffusion the spread of cultural beliefs and social activities from one group to another
geographic origin where, on Earth, something started/began
monotheism the belief in one God
polytheism the belief in many gods or goddesses
