Hominid A primate of a family that includes humans and their fossil ancestors and also (in recent systems) at least some of the great apes.
Culture The arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively.
Neanderthal An extinct species of human that was widely distributed in ice-age Europe between c. 120,000-35,000 years ago, with a receding forehead and prominent brow ridges.
Cro-Magnon A hominid of a tall erect race of the Upper Paleolithic known from skeletal remains found chiefly in Southern France and classified as the same species as present day humans.
Agriculture The science or practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animas to provide food, wool, and other products.
Domestication The process of taming an animal and keeping it as a pet or on a farm.
Hunter-Gatherer A member of a nomadic people who live chiefly by hunting, fishing, and harvesting wild food.
Teosinte A Mexican grass that is grown as folder and is considered to be one of the parent plants of modern corn.
Pastoralist A sheep or cattle farmer.
Neolithic Revolution the origin and consequences the introduction of agriculture, domestication of animals, and a more sedentary life during the later part of the Stone Age.
