Human Origins
| Term | Definition |

| Archeologist | person who studies human history, particularly the culture of historic and prehistoric people, through discovery and exploration of remains, structures and writings |
| Historic | The time in our history after written language |
| Fossils | Hardened remains of living things from long ago |
| Hominid | A modern human or member of an earlier group that may have included ancestors or relatives of modern humans |
| Nomad | People who move from place to place |
| Prehistoric | The time in our history before written language |
| Circa | around, about, roughly, approximately |
| Hunter-gatherer | Early humans who lived by hunting animals and gathering plants |
| Technology | Tools and skills that make life easier for people and items that people use to meet their daily needs |
