Cherokee Nation cont. 5) Worcester v. Georgia - Supreme Court ruled that Georgia had no right to interfere with the Cherokee, only the federal gov't 6) Jackson supported Georgia 7) Federal troops made them move
The Treaty of New Echota (Cherokee capital) 1)500 Cherokee signed their people's land away 2) this legal document gave Jackson the right to remove the Native Americans 3) Treaty had Senate approval by one vote
