| The Dust Bowl | The prairie states in the mid-west that experienced a severe drought which brought about dust storms. The worst was called Black Sunday. |

| Margaret Mitchell | author who wrote the book, Gone With the Wind |
| The Federal Arts Projects (FAP) | government sponsored arts program created in 1935 to provide work relief for artists |
