Election of 1828 Andrew Jackson became president largely because more "Common Men" were able to vote.
Mudslinging The use of insults and unfounded accusations to hurt a political opponent.
Spoils System The practice of awarding political supporters with government jobs.
Five Civilized Tribes Native American groups who adopted "white" culture in hopes of keeping their lands.
