First ten amendments of the Constitution
Term | Definition |

1st Amendment | Religious and Political Freedom: Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly and petition. |
2nd Amendment | Right to Bear Arms : A well regulated militia. |
3rd Amendment | Quartering Troops: No soldier shall be quartered in any house without consent of the owner. |
4th Amendment | Search and Seizure: Rights of the people to be secure in their persons houses, papers, and effects against unreasonable searches and seizures. |
5th Amendment | Rights of Accused Person: No person shall be held to answer for a capital |
6th Amendment | Right to a Speedy, Public Trial: The accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial. |
7th Amendment | Trial by Jury in Civil Cases: The right of trial by jury shall be preserved but no fact tried by a jury. |
8th Amendment | Limits of Fines and Punishments: Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines |
9th Amendment | Rights of People: Certain rights shall not be taken away from the people |
10th Amendment | Powers of States and People: Powers belong to the states and people. |
