Consumer/ Heterotroph An organism that get it's nutritional requirements from other organisms
Decomposer An organism that decomposes organic material
Herbivore An organism which has a diet that consist of plants and plants only.
Carnivore An organism which has a diet that consists of meat and meat only.
Omnivore An organism that has a diet that consists of plants and meat.
Scavenger An animal that eats dead organisms.
Food Chain A food chain is the order of who eats who in a biological community
Food Web A large group of several food chains
Suns role in food food chain/web The sun is the source of energy for all food chains.
Energy Pyramid Diagram displaying the movement of energy from a producer to higher levels of a food chain.
Symbiosis Relationship between 2 organisms.
Mutualism Symbiosis where both organisms benefit.
Commensalism Symbiosis where one organism benefits, and one is not harmed nor hurt.
Parasitism Symbiosis where one organism benefits and another is being harmed or even killed.
Predator/ Prey One who eats another organism/ one who a predator eats.
Competition Battle or race between 2 organisms for food, usually resulting in organisms hunting at different times of the day.
Adaptation Ways organisms change or adjust their lifestyle based on where they live or who they live with.
