Who were the Five Civilized Tribes? The Creek, the Cherokee, the Chickasaw, the Choctaw, and the Seminole Indians.
Why were they called the Five Civilized Tribes? They could read and write. They had their own alphabet, newspaper, and constitution. Many were farmers.
