Hardware | Physical components of a computer that are unable to operate without software. |
Software | A set of instructions that direct a computer to perform certain tasks. |
Operating System Hardware (OSS) | Manages and controls computer hardware so that other software can perform tasks, e.g. Linux, Windows, Mac OS |
Cache | Temporary storage that allows for information to be quickly accessed. |
Central Processing Unit | Where the processing of information takes place, e.g. CPU |
Input Device | Devices that input information/data, e.g. Mouses, keyboards, scanners. |
Output Device | Devices that output information/data, e.g. Monitors, printers, speakers. |
