| CD-RW | Compact Disc-Rewritable, discs that allow the user to add information to them and edit or remove the information to make room for new information. |
| DVD-ROM | Digital Versatile Disc - Read-Only Memory, similar to a CD-ROM but can hold much more information because they are double-sided. |
| Blue-ray Disc | Similar to a DVD-ROM, but can hold even more information. Used primarily for high definition video and audio files. |

| Bit | A single character of binary coding system. |
| Byte | Eight bits of the binary coding system. |
| Processor Speed | Measured in megahertz (MHz) and gigahertz (GHz), expresses the speed that a computer is capable of moving data in and out of memory. |
| Software | Any program on a computer, such as a web browser or typing program, that tells the computer how to act in a certain way in order to accomplish the user's task. |
