| Question | Answer |
| Aside | words that are spokenk, usually in an undertone, that are not intended to be heard by all characters. |
| comedy address | used in literature to provide a break form the seriousness or sadness of the story |
| direct | words that tell the reader who is being addressed |
| inciting moment | when the firat bit of action occurs which begins the plot |
| crisis | the point where the protagonist's situation will eather get worse or better |
| monologue | when only one person is speaking on stage |
| soliliquy | a long speech that expresses the thoughts of a character who is alone on stage. |
| resolution | the end of the central conflict |
| dramatic foil | a character whose purpose is to show off another character. |
| denovement | sometimes included after the resolution as the final explainations or outcome of the plot. |
| falling action | the point in the plot, after the climax which is the turning point of the story |
