| DRAMA. | Is meant to be PERFORMED for an audience. A drama is a play, musical,or an opera that is told through DIALOGUE. |
| DIALOGUE. | What actors/characters say. |
| GESTURES. | Movements of body parts. |
| STAGE DIRECTIONS. | Tell the actors what to do,where to stand, what to hold. They are written in Italics and are in brackets. |
| COMEDY. | A drama with a happy ending. |
| TRAGEDY. | A drama with a tragic or unhappy ending. |
| TRAGIC FLAW. | The quality, belief, personality trait that,leads to a character's death or downfall. |
| 1 ACT PLAY. | A drama with few characters, few scenes; usually lasts less than an hour. |
| FULL LENGTH PLAY. | Many characters, many scenes, many conflicts;usually lasts 2 hours or more. |
| MONOLOGUE. | A long speech by a characters on stage other characters can hear a monologue. |
| ASIDE. | A brief comment made by a character to another character or to the audience.Not heard by other characters ;meant to be heard by the audience. |
| SOLILOQUY. | A long speech made by a character in which his/her (told) thoughts and a feelings are revealed. Usually NOT meant to be heard by other characters, but it is meant to be heard by the audience. |
