Term | Definition |
Monitor | Typically made of a thin film transistor liquid and also known as an electronic visual display |
CPU | The key component of a computer system, which contains the circuitry necessary to interpret and execute program instructions |
Keyboard | A panel of keys that operate a computer |
Mouse | A pointing device for 2D motion |
Printer | Makes a persistent human-readable representation of graphics or texts on paper of similar physical media |
Microphone | A device to record voice and other sounds |
Speakers | Used to produce audio output |
Motherboard | The thing that links all of the components of a computer. It has the slots and connections for RAM, GPU, ports for the connections to CD Drives, hard drives, etc. |
Computer | A multipurpose device that accepts input, processes data, stores data, and produces output, all according to a series of stored commands. |
Output Device | The results produced by the computer can be display, transmitted, or printed on one of these. |
Input Device | A device that can input data or help the user interact with the computer. |
Hex Value | A six-digit value used in HTML, CSS, SVG, and other computing applications to represent colors. |
WYSIWYG | An editor or program that allows a developer to see what the end result will look like while the interface or document is being created; acronym for "what you see is what you get" |
Resume | a document used by a person to present their backgrounds and skills. |
Operating System | the software that supports a computer's basic functions, such as scheduling tasks, executing applications, and controlling peripherals. |
Hardware | any physical device used in or with a computer |
Software | a collection of code installed onto your computer's hard drive |
ePortfolio | an electronic collection of evidence that shows your learning journey over time |
SMART Goals | Goals that are written in a format that is Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely |
Domain Name | the unique address where people can find your website |
Contrast | Using visual weight to focus attention and highlight the most important points that the viewer should notice on a webpage |
Repetition | ties objects or images together by repeating visual aspects |
Alignment | indicates organization by using margins to either align either left, right, center, or justified |
Proximity | creates relationships with objects on a web page by grouping items that are related together |
