Term | Definition |
Binary | Using, or expressed in a system of numerical notation that has 2 rather than 10 as a base. |
Binary Code | A coding system using the binary digits 0 and 1 to represent a letter, digit, or other character in a computer or other electronic device. |
Binary Numbers | A number expressed in the binary numeral system, or base-2 numeral system, which represents numeric values using two different symbols: typically 0 (zero) and 1 (one). |
0s & 1s | Computers are based on the binary numbering system, which consists of just two unique numbers, 0 and 1 |
ASCII (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) | Is the most common format for text files in computers and on the Internet. |
VGA (Video Graphic Array) | Officially refers to only 640x480 pixels with 16 or 256 colors. |
Pixel | A minute area of illumination on a display screen, one of many from which an image is composed. |
Bit (short for binary digit) | Is the smallest unit of data in a computer. |
Byte | The common unit of computer storage from desktop computer to mainframe. |
Algorithm | A process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer. |
