Word Processing | The software used to create and edit text documents |
Edit | When you change or rewrite your document to improve it |
Proofread | When you check to make sure the document makes sense and there are no errors |
Cut | When you right click a word and remove it completely from the document |
Copy | When you duplicate text |
Paste | When you put the duplicated text into a document |
Synonym | Words that are different but have similar meanings |
Format | The way text looks and where it is positioned on a page |
Font | The shape of the letters, numbers, and other characters |
Orientation | Describes the direction of the page or the paper you will print on |
Alignment | Describes whether the text is lined up on the left, right, center, or across the page |
Bulleted List | A series of text that uses characters, such as dots or diamonds, to present information in no particular order |
Numbered List | A series of text that uses numbers to present information in a particular order |
Margin | The space between the text from the top, bottom and sides |
Default | A setting that the computer automatically selects unless you change it |
Tab | A set distance for moving the insertion point |
Indent | The distance of a paragraph from either the right or left side |
Quotation | The exact words that someone wrote or said |
Header | Shows information on the top of the page |
Footer | Shows information on the bottom of the page |
Citation | The detailed information about each source of information |
Title Page | A separate page at the beginning of a report or research paper |

Table | A grid of rows and columns that organize complex information so it is easy to understamd |
Column | The information that is aligned vertically on the table |
Row | The information that is arranged horizontally on a table |
