| Validity | Measuring what it's supposed to measure |
| Predictive/criterion validity | Accuracy with which a test predicts future performance on a related task |
| Concurrent validity | Degree to which a new test correlates with an established test of known validity |
| Construct validity | Degree to which test scores are consistent with theoretical constructs or concepts |
| Content validity | If the test actually measures what it intends to measure |
| Reliability | Consistency with which the same event is measured repeatedly |
| Test-retest reliability | Consistency of measures when the same test is administered to the same people twice |
| Alternate-form/parallel form reliability | Consistency of the measures when two parallel forms of the same tests are administered to the same people |
| Split-half reliability | Responses of the first half are correlated with the responses on the second half |
| Interobserver/interjudge reliability | The extent that two or more observers agree in measuring and event |
| Intraobserver/intrajudge reliability | The extent to which the same observe repeatedly measures the same event consistently |
