Term | Definition |
fixed asset | anything owned by the business whose value is not directly changed by the normal daily transactions of the business |
capital expendiuture | spending on fixed assets |
current expenditure | spending on the on going costs of running a business |
term loan | firm borrows money from a bank to be used to purchase an asset |
bank overdraft | permission from bank to overdraw their account to pay their current expenses |
leasing | contract to rent an asset for an agreed period of time |
retained earning | reinvesting some of the profits made by a company back into the business |
grants | non repayable sums of money given to a firm by the government |
sale and leaseback | selling of fixed asset to a finance company and then leasing it back over a long term agreement. |
