| Ignorantiam | De: by use of unanswerable challenge to disprove rather than by serious attempt to prove. Ex: One argues that God or telepathy, ghosts, or UFO's do not exist because their existence has not been proven beyond a shadow of doubt, then this fallacy occurs. |
| Ad hominem | De: (of an argument or reaction) arising from or appealing to the emotions and not reason or logic. Ex: 1. Person A makes claim X. 2. Person B makes an attack on person A. 3. Therefore A's claim is false. |
| Either/Or | De: An unavoidable choice between two alternatives. Ex: I could neither laugh nor cry. |
