Term | Definition |
32-bit | Computers whose architecture is based on working with 32 bits at a time. This means that memory addresses, register sizes, address and data bus sizes and instruction sizes are all 32 bits in length. |
64-bit | Computers that have a processor whose architecture is based on working with 64 bits at a time. This means that memory addresses, register sizes, address and data bus sizes and instruction sizes are all 64 bits in length. |
Buffer | A region of memory which is used to temporarily hold data while it waits for some form of further processing often by a slower or busier device that cannot handle the data immediately. |
