Term | Definition |
Access Copyright | the specific registration name of a Canadian business or Corporation |
Copyright | concerning rights to copy ideas or any works |
Intellectual Property | not a physical object but an “idea” or “expression” of oneself that is owned as noted as their own |
Royalty | money that is paid to a composer or author when a work is being used for public performances or being sold |
Trademarks | products or services of a business, individual or corporation that is owned by such |
Public Domain | works belonging to the public and are free to copy and use and can be done without permission |
Moral Rights | the rights of the creator that are considered a copyright |
Preforming Rights | providing legal rights to the creators of the art form |
Plagiarism | presenting someone else’s work and claiming it as your own |
Fair Dealing | a law that allows individuals to use to use copyrighted works in a form that does not threaten interest of the copyright holder but benefits the society and culture. |
Patent | interventions or ideas that are copyrighted but do not require permission to copy |
Blanket License | a license that is annually paid to and authorizes public performances |
