| full-duplex transmission | Data transmission in which data is exchanged in both directions simultaneously, such as when two people talk on the telephone and both people are able to speak and hear at the same time.

| multiplexing | A method by which multiple data streams (either analog or digital) are combined and carried on a single wire.
