| Theory | A principle or idea that is proposed, research, and generally accepted as an explanation.

| Neuron | Specialized nerve cells (brain)

| Synapse | Connections between nerve cells that pass messages to the brain.

| Cognitive Development | Growth in the mental process used to gain knowledge, such as thought, reasoning, and imagination.

| Object Permanence | The concept that an object still exists even when it is out of sight.

| Personality | A combination of characteristics or qualities that form a persons distinctive character.

| Assimilation | The new concept learned by a child must fit into what the child already knows.

Review the information in the table. When you are ready to quiz yourself you can hide individual columns or the entire table. Then you can click on the empty cells to reveal the answer. Try to recall what will be displayed before clicking the empty cell.
