Arteries   The the vessel that leaves the heart.Takes the blood cell to organs or tissues in the body.

Arteriole   When the artery continues to get smaller an smaller.

Capillary   When the arteriole continues to get smaller and smaller.

Capillary Beds   This is where the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide take place. Pre-capillary sphincter valves at the beginning of each capillary that regulate blood flow into the capilary.

Venules   The blood vessels increase in size.  
🗑
Veins   When the venules increase in size. This returns blood to the heart.  
🗑
Tunica adventia   The outer layer of the artery. This is made of elastic fibers and connective tissue and gives the artery strength and shape.

Tunica Media   Consists of a multi unit smooth muscle and elastic tissue. This is the middle layer of the artery.  
🗑
Tunica intimae   Layer of endothelium and i very smooth to prevent clotting.
