The functional unit of information on the chromosome is the gene

QuestionAnswer
What do genes code for? A polypeptide or protein
What are the types of RNA? Ribosomal RNA, transfer RNA and messenger RNA.
Define amino acid. An organic molecule that is the monomer of proteins.
How many amino acids are there? 20
How many bases code for 1 amino acid? 3
Define codon. A three base sequence on the mRNA molecule that provides the code for a particular amino acid.
