Autotroph An organism that produces complex organic compounds (producer)

foodchain A series of organisms each dependent on the next as a source of food.
glucose 1.A simple sugar that is an important energy source in living organisms and is a component of many carbohydrates.
heat the form of energy that flows between two samples of matter due to their difference in temperature.
heterotroph An organism deriving its nutritional requirements from complex organic substances.
inorganicmolecules A molecule that lacks carbon, such as nitrate (NO3) or ammonium (NH4).
NADPH a coenzyme used in anabolic reactions, such as lipid and nucleic acid synthesis.
organicmolecules An organic compound is any member of a large class of chemical compounds whose molecules contain carbon.
photosynthesis 1.The process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods from carbon dioxide and water.
producer An autotrophic organism capable of producing complex organic compounds from simple inorganic molecules through the process of photosynthesis.
