Unit 7 Test Review

This system controls everything in the body-the boss Nervous System
Includes kidneys, ureters, and the bladder. Excretory System
The Respiratory System does what two things for the body? It gets oxygen into the body and gets carbon dioxide out.
Includes the hair, fingernails, and the skin. Integumentary System
The Muscular system does what two things for the body? Moves the body and lines other organs.
Includes bones, cartilage, and ligaments. Skeletal system.
The Circulatory system includes what three major parts? The heart, blood, and blood vessels.
This system breaks down food to a form that cells can use and absorb. Digestive system
The reproductive systems allows what to happen? Allows organisms to pass on life.
The glands help produce hormones which control activities in the body, which system is this? Endocrine system
Carries fluid away from the tissues and returns it to the blood. Lymphatic system
Defends the body against pathogens. Immune system
This system is made up of the brain and the spinal cord The Central Nervous System
This system is made up of all of the nerves that branch out from the CNS. The Peripheral Nervous System
The dendrites do what? They recieve the messages.
This is what sends the messages. The Axon.
What are synapses? They are the space that messages "jump" over.
What are blood vessels? They are tubes that carry blood throughtout the body.
Oxygen and carbon dioxide are exchanges with the cell here. The capillaries.
Explain the closed circulartory system. Keeps the blood in blood vessels at all times. blood is pumped by a heart.
What do white blood cells do? fight infection.
