what is assimilation? when food particles become part of the tissue. use of food
microvili have special protein channels and pumps in their membranes to absorb nutrients through (2 processes) facilitated diffusion and active transport
villi is one layer thick (epithelial layer) so that rapid diffusion
epithelial layer of villi contains mitochondria to produce ATP for (process) active transport
what does lacteal branch in the middle of villus do? carry away fats after absorption
