The worldwide importance of certain diseases MA

What is the world health organisation? A part of the united nations. It is the specialised agency for health and its objective is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. .
What aspects may contribute to poor health? Poverty, lack of proper shelter, lack of purified water, poor nutrition, poor hygiene, lack of investment by the government, poor or inadequate health services, inadequate education about the causes of disease and how they are transmitted etc.
Where is malaria most common? The tropical regions. 90% in sub-Saharan Africa.
What is a pandemic? A disease that spreads rapidly to a lot of people worldwide.
Where is tuberculosis most common? Sub-Saharan Africa, South East Asia and rising in Eastern Europe.
What is an endemic? A disease that is always present in a population e.g. Influenza
What is an epidemic. A disease spreading rapidly to a lot of people in a large area.
