photosynthesis

Photosynthesis has two main stages light reaction and calvin cycle
autotrophs self feeders, include plants, bacteria, and algea.
photosynthesis is a series of endergonic reactions meaning it makes its own food.
oxidation water molecules are split and lose electrons
reduced electrons are added to it to form glucose
stomata small pores of the outer layer of the cell.
photosynthesis takes place in the chloroplast
chloroplast has two membranes outermembrane and inner membrane called the stroma. sugars are made here
thylakoids are sacs suspended in stroma
grana stacks in thlakoids
light reaction sunslight energy is converted into chemical energy ATP and NADPH that will be used to synthesize glucose. require input of light energy. takes place in the thylakoid membrane
calvin cycle chemical energy from ATP and NADPH is used to produce glucose. DOES NOT REQUIRE LIGHT. carbon fixation happens converts gas CO2 into solid glucose
carbon fixation converts gas C02 into a solid form of glucose.
